Operation Sindoor – India's Precision Strikes Against Terrorism

The devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 Indian civilians, prompted India to launch a major military operation known as Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. The goal of this operation was to destroy the terror networks behind the attack by focusing on nine important terrorist infrastructure locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

A Targeted Attack on Terror Networks:

The goal of Operation Sindoor was to destroy important terrorist training grounds and supply lines that terrorist organizations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) use. The Indian military was able to strike strategic targets with little collateral damage thanks to the operation's high level of precision and sophisticated weaponry.

Nine important locations, including some of the most infamous Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba bases, were targeted throughout Pakistani and PoK territory. Among the important locations targeted during the operation were Mirpur, Rawalakot, and Muzaffarabad.

  1. Muzaffarabad: renowned for serving as a key location for a number of terrorist organizations.
  2. Rawalakot:Another important location where Lashkar-e-Taiba launches attacks is Rawalakot.
3.Mirpur: A region frequently mentioned as a militant training ground.

The strikes did not go unnoticed on the global stage. Pakistan immediately condemned the operation, calling it an unprovoked violation of its sovereignty. Diplomatic channels between India and Pakistan became more tense, and several military exchanges took place along the Line of Control (LoC).

On the other hand, some global powers, including the United States and Russia, reiterated India’s right to defend its citizens against terrorism. However, China, as well as various international bodies such as the United Nations, called for restraint to avoid further escalation, urging both sides to seek a peaceful resolution.

Despite these global reactions, India stood firm in its stance, making it clear that such terrorist attacks would no longer be met with mere condemnation—they would be met with action.
